Hi there!

Jacob Brunhart is the owner and operator of YakWorks Woodwork, based in the mountains just outside Kamas, Utah. The rugged landscape surrounding his home fuels both his creative spirit and his adventures beyond the shop.

With a background in carpentry and home remodeling, Jacob transitioned fully into custom furniture and cabinetry in 2021. Today he’s known as a hybrid artisan — pairing industrial machinery for foundational shaping with hand tools that bring precision, finesse, and soul to each piece.

Jacob gravitates toward character-rich woods such as figured West Coast Black Walnut, ambrosia Maple, and African Sapele. He’s drawn to materials that have lived a hard life, finding potential in their imperfections. Working closely with clients, he transforms rough beginnings into functional, beautiful pieces that reflect a shared vision and the story within the wood.

Mission/Vision

To transform rough, storied materials into meaningful, functional works of art through close collaboration with clients. YakWorks Woodwork envisions a creative process where each piece carries the history of the wood, the voice of the client, and the craftsmanship of a hybrid artisan dedicated to excellence.
